Layers and Fancy poultry
While we maintain a layer population of poultry on the farm, we have developed a focus on the Ameraucana Breed. We have learned that true breed-standard Ameraucana poultry have very exacting feather coloration requirements and that many of the chicks do not meet that exact standard but that they are super attractive with an amazing array of wonderful colors in combination with the really fun looking "muff and beard" feathering under their beaks and around the sides of their heads.
The non-breed standard colored Ameraucanas are referred to as "Easter Eggers" and produce the same amazing light blue colored eggs. Aiden commands the poultry operation and has been hatching out his own eggs from an incubator, and from under broody hens. The hen flock now have a beautiful array of colors and his roosters are amazingly attractive also.
